Muthoni Drummer Queen

Muthoni The Drummer Queen, the Kenyan singer, rapper, percussionist, and generally multi- talented artist, has gained a solid reputation in her country for many years.

In 2013, through DJ Cortega, a mutual friend, Muthoni met the two Swiss beatmakers GR! & Hook. A true musical alchemy came to life out of this unlikely encounter, breeding on the diversity of influences of each protagonist. The result is the project "MDQ", in which the trio playfully fuses soulful sounds, hip-hop, rock and even reggae vibes, while keeping it homogenous and surprisingly fresh! Wyclef Jean (of The Fugees) – bewitched by the tribal anthem "Nai Ni Ya Who", the band’s first single took part in the remix version of the title.

Following a victory at the M4Music 2014 (Demotape Clinic / Urban Category), much radio play, and a landmark concert at the Paleo Festival 2015, the band is back in studio with a new album planned for 2018
